reminder – reduce water content from 420g to 150g. Too watery otherwise particularly if noodles are precooked .
This recipe (see link above ) for Singapore noodles from Quirky Cooking is super, super tasty . Love this dish , curry flavour with coriander and lime yum ! Makes a full thermoserver and is one of those dishes that always tastes better the next day so great to have in fridge for snacks . We topped with fresh coriander , chilli sauce and lime . Fantastic food for winter chills . Miss 16 will take to school for lunch .
We use thermomix for first half of the recipe from sautéing the onion garlic carrot and chicken . Then used the pan to stir fry all together with noodles and chinese cabbage because we upped the cabbage content slightly to over what would fit in the tmx. Reduced water content because we used rice noodles instead of vermicelli bean thread noodles. And precooked the rice noodles for a few minutes in boiling water . Easily one of my favourite all in one meals .
The above highly rated pasta sauce recipe is better than the one in the BCB. Can add any vegetables you have leftover in fridge. Reduced the olive oil to 110g and left out salt , added later to taste as recommended by other members in the comments section .
Didn’t bliz at the end to leave a bit chunkier . Love the heat from the white pepper. Perfect for miss 10 recovering from winter cold. Delicious.
The guided fruity dream recipe is truly amazing but when using frozen fruit it’s sometimes a bit tricky to get the butterfly moving at the slower speeds through frozen fruit . Today’s fruit choice is a four berry mix ( strawberries , blackberries , blueberries and grapes ) We overcome the mixing issue by adding the egg white to the frozen fruit and then using the normal blades to premix and soften the fruit and egg white before inserting the butterfly to finish off the creaming .
We loooove this ice cream !! It’s so quick and so impressive seeing frozen fruit transformed into the most wonderful soft serve ice cream in our kitchen . Knowing that it is just frozen fruit with just one egg white and a table spoon of sugar takes any guilt away from an Easter afternoon treat.
Fruity Dream ( Our method )
Add 25g of sugar ( reduced from 80g in guided recipe ) to TM bowl, process at speed 9 for 10 seconds
Add 500g frozen fruit to sugar , mix 10 seconds, speed 8/9.
Add egg white , mix at speed 7/8 until softening and starting to cream a little
Insert butterfly whisk , mix 30-40 seconds /speed 3 until smooth and creamy
Food magic in a minute . Can serve immediately or place into freezer to store . So good !
Lovely recipe . Very easy . Great way to use excess or old apples . Recommend not cutting down sugar as the recipe is not too sweet which is great. Will try using the guided sweet shortcrust pastry next time .
It’s pouring with rain outside and there’s nothing to do than put on a movie and get the thermomix cooking something while we watch . Caramelised onions are easy to make in the thermomix . Around 6 onions peeled and sliced into rings , cook in thermomix with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for 30 minutes . Add 20g brown sugar ( reduced from 75g in recipe as a few suggested in the comments section ) and cook for further 5 minutes and they’re ready to eat . Recipe link above . Makes a decent jar full.
Perfect with Sunday sausage lunch .Miss 16 and Miss 10 loved the onions with the sausage in bread , and didn’t even need tomato sauce .
hint – place thermomix under extractor fan to minimise cooking vinegar smell.
The Best ever scones recipe from the community uses cream instead of butter. This highly recommended recipe is great for a traditional milk and butter scone. Added in sultanas for fruit this time . Awesome recipe .
When you have leftover vegetables in the fridge and it’s too hot for vegetable soup, this vegetable lasagne recipe is a great user of the odd pieces of carrot , celery stalks, mushrooms and spinach ( chucked in bits of leftover salad into the sauce before blitzing)
Basic method ( refer link above for ingredients )
Grate some cheese for the top, blitz cheese in tmx at speed 8-10 until fine, set aside
Make bechemal sauce , ( used guided recipe for bechemal sauce in the lasagne bolognese) set aside
Make one portion of fresh pasta dough and roll out into sheets ( or use prebought sheets) NB roll into the thinnest setting with the pasta machine.
Chop 1 onion and two cloves of garlic at speed 7 for 3 seconds . Add 30g oil and sauté 3 mins, varoma temp, speed 1.
Add leftover vegetables, blitz speed 5/6 till finely chopped (eg carrot , celery , mushrooms) , add 100g white wine, tin tomatoes , 20g vegetable stock paste , basil and parsley. ( whatever herbs you have ) salt and pepper to taste
Add spinach leaves to varoma ( NB only used one tin instead of two 400g tomatoes because substituted spinach for extra tomatoes)
Place varoma on top of TM bowl to steam spinach while cooking vegetable sauce 20 mins, varoma temp, reverse speed 2.
Layer lasagne sheets with spinach , sauce , bechemal sauce with cheese on top
Bake 50-60 mins 180C.
Delicious ! Prefer this to a meat lasagne and it’s a one dish meal .
We have a nut/soy milk maker so never got round to using the thermomix to make soy milk . It’s just as easy , soak beans overnight in water . Then cook with water in tmx at 80c for a a few minutes ( recipe link above ) . Blend and heat at 80c for a few more minutes. Strain, add sweetener to taste and serve . Miss 10 thinks it even tastes better. Brilliant , now I can pass my soy milk maker on to someone else .
